On the Second Day of Our Trip Jeff Gave to Me... Two bus rides!

Jeff and I woke up to a very chilly rain storm. We opted to sit in the lobby and enjoy the rain from inside. When the sun came around we ventured out to enjoy the sun shine. I'm totally amused with people driving on the wrong side of the road-I just want to know what the heck is up with the road lines?? Seriously? Squiggly lines???

Jeff kicking it at Picadilly Circus. There were cute little pigeons in the fountains and lots of people. Rumor has it that this is the Times Square of London. If we could stay up past 8pm we might have found out if that were true! London, although expensive, is a beautiful place and I would like to go back and spend more time walking around, finding the cafe that famous writers pondered super thoughts, see where the first Virgin record store started and take The Beatles tour.

The phone booths were pretty cool with the exception that they smelled like pee and were advertisements for hookers. We should've seen how many people we could fit in one... walking around London reminded me of The Beatles "Help!" There were so many fun streets to wander on, little church yards to see and fun shops. We took the bus around so we could enjoy seeing everything.

Shopping at Harod's... we didn't get anything except some photos with the mannequins. I do have my eye on a silverware set. If it ever drops below the $15,000 asking price... Later on we headed over to meet up with Ben and Julia at their hotel. They were a little late but it was fun once they got there!

I couldn't stop singing
Mary Poppins!!! I felt like a musical. I kept singing, "Feed the Birds" every time I saw pigeons eat stuff people tossed them. Jeff didn't get it. Later that night at Hyde Park it was like every
Mary Poppin fan's dream come true-the bird lady had come to feed the birds! It was so fun to watch the birds go nuts, and she'd even named some of the big blue herons.

Hyde Park was ridiculously beautiful. I could've walked around for hours. There is a memorial fountain to Princess Diana there. It's like a tiny river that is shaped in a circle and flows up and down stream
(with the help of a pump, Jeff would like to point out). We stopped for a small dinner at the cafe next to the river.

Hyde Park is where "Jack the Ripper" did his famous hooker killing. Her body was found all bloodied and cut in pieces near one of the bridges many, many years ago. Today the park is beautiful and if you try not to think about the dead hooker, not creepy at all.

I forget what this statue is. Pretty sure it's really old, took a lot of money to build and has some sort of of major significance though.
