I am leaving Wednesday morning for Girls Camp until Saturday! Hooray! I am actually really excited, and I'm glad Heather asked me to go! Here is what I am expecting:
- My hair braided in a lot of little braids
- "Kum Ba Ya" stuck in my head
- 100 degree heat
- Rain
- Friends
- Bugs
- Skits
How much fun is this going to be?? It will hopefully be as fun as Camp Liahona was!!! Alright, Deanna, Kristen, Princess, Melissa, Angela, Eden, Whitney, Haley, Jessica, Janelle, Heather and anyone else who went to Liahona or Girls Camp....

Hmm, I don't know! I know you could always count on it raining, at least once during the week! EVERY YEAR!! Braiding hair was fun, even more fun taking them out and having a huge fro! But another fond memory is of the testimony meetings. You could feel the Spirit so strongly! In fact, it was at girls camp many years ago that I bore my testimony for the first time ever!! Fun stuff....
wondering each year what bug problem we were going to have to deal with...haha. i think the best year was the the one when all the daddy long legs took over the whole camp.
I was the most gullible first year and couldn't believe it when the 5th and 6th year girls killed these innocent, little snipes! I loved doing snipe hunts for the 1st years when I was older too.
A lot of my other favorite memories involve the creek. I loved swinging across on the rope and wading in the water. I always got a little scared that I would run into water snakes or leeches when wading. The Liahona skit was always performed by the creek too, and I often would study my scriptures by the creek because it was so peaceful.

Wow! When I look back upon some of those pictures (thanks Anna for posting them on Facebook) I can't believe how young and silly we look! I remember this one year you did this funny skit..I don't remember the whole thing, I just remember laughing ALOT. I also remember you and your family being in charge of whenever we went canoeing. I am embarrassed to say, but I was always so jealous that you were so outdoorsy and I was such an awkward person when it came to hiking, biking, or camp things in general. Man, I could go on...all the pranks you pulled. I think it was our first year. I remember Princess, masks, water, being scared. Were you involved in that? Not sure, but it sounds like something you would do :) In the next couple of weeks we need to get together. My phone number is the same...832-515-8068. Call me!
Digging our own latrine, snipe hunting, girl fights, dirt in my teeth, "If I Were a Pioneer, Pioneer" song with a twang, bugs, a porcupine invading camp, rain, and, alas, always starting my period with the change of altitude.
Gee, just wish I had a calling in YW. But I don't.
