Graham Cracker "Gingerbread" Houses

Tis the season... To make lots and lots of fun Christmas stuff! All month long we've been making snowflakes, gingerbread houses, Christmas cookies, and lots more fun stuff. Today a couple of the girls came over after school and we made graham cracker gingerbread houses.
Emma designed her house with an open roof so her Christmas tree would fit inside. I thinkit looks like a little chapel. Notice all the little snowmen out front? Avery had pathways for both the front and back doors. Her snowman even had a hat to stay warm.
Good thing, too! With the amount of "snow" she dumped on top he needed it.I went for the goopy look. I suppose I should have made the frosting a tid bit thicker... but it was the first batch and ended up a little runny. But thanks to Emma, I'm now a pro at making frosting extra fast, extra perfect. Just ask her how hard you have to squeeze a sandwhich bag full of frosting before it explodes.

To Make Your Own You Will Need:
Box of Graham Crackers
Bag of gum drops
Some mini marshmallows
Chocolate chips
Red Hots
Powdered Sugar (for the frosting and for "snow")
Red and green peppermints
Holiday paper plates
Sandwhich bags (zipper kind) for the frosting (unless you actually have frosting bags-then use those cause sandwhich bags suuuuuck!) Sugar ice cream cones (for the trees)

Frosting:
Dump about a cup of confectioners sugar in bowl. Sprinkle about a teaspoon of milk, water, hot chocolate, orange juice.. some sort of liquid in. Mix it. If it's too thick, add a little bit more liquid. If it needs to be thicker, add more powdered sugar. This is not to frost the birthday cake for Brad Pitt-you're decorating graham crackers so don't worry about it. And if you were using this recipe for his birthday cake frosting-um. Shame on you. And shoot-unless you're the Ace of Cakes would you really make BRAD PITT a birthday cake!? Not me-I'd cater. Unless he likes boxed cake mixes...

Directions: Wing it. It'll be fun.
Love Anna
