My Grandma

I've been home from Iowa now for quite some time, but I thought I'd share a bit from the trip.  Minus the photos, because the new blogger editor sucks.  I'm going back to the old one.

We went to Iowa to celebrate my Grandma's 95th birthday.  She is quite an amazing woman and I just love her to pieces.  We took her shopping in the Czech Village, went to the Amana Colonies, to all my Aunt's and Uncle's houses, to Hyvee for hot dogs, to the tenderloin place for a tenderloin as big as my head and quite a few other places.  It was a blast.  I always worry the each time I see her might be my last.  She's finally admitting this year that she is "getting old" and it breaks my heart.  I admire her so much.  She's one of my favorite people on Earth so I tried to spend as much quality time with her as I could, but I still don't feel like it was enough.

I also was so glad to get to be in Iowa again.  Honestly, that has to be one of the prettiest places ever.  The rolling hills, the farms, the laid back country life, the corn, the kittens, the peonies, the yards without fences, and people who aren't caught up with life in the city.  There's something calm and collected about Iowans, and I love whatever that is.

And now it's back into the heat of the Texas summer, where it's only the middle of June and the heat index is 103.  ... exactly two years ago I was in Montana enjoying a blizzard at this time.... *sigh*
Love Anna
