SHAC Jam was a weekend or two ago, and it was quite the event. I went up Friday night and volunteered, came home, ran the Ten for Texas, and then went back to SHAC Jam. Sadly, I missed most of the events, but I was there for the super awesome closing ceremonies and to meet Baden Powell's granddaughter. They also had an amazing firework show that I probably took way too many pictures of... Best part? The fact that we were sitting in VIP. How'd we get those seats? Uh, Jeff, my parents
(although my Dad was a VIP), and I just walked up and sat down-no one said anything and we couldn't figure out why there were so many available chairs while everyone else was in the stands or on the track. Ah, makes sense now... oh well. That's how the Tew's roll.
Sunday morning they held religious services for many of the religious groups they had attending. The Boy Scouts are big into being reverent, and they strongly encouraged participants to stay for Sunday Services. The Methodists had a crazy big band as did most of the other religions, and the Catholics even had a Cardinal show up for theirs. We were lucky to have Elder Costa come and speak to the LDS groups. He and Gifford Nielson were pretty awesome. I can tell you this is the only time I have ever had a sacrament meeting on a race track. It was a really special experience.
While taking this picture a car full of missionaries drove by on the bottom of the track. They slowed down, revved their engine and then gunned it
almost to the curvy spot on the track where they quickly pulled off. Then about a split second after that the track security guy pulled them over and let them have it. They were lucky, after yelling at them they were let go without having to pay the $500 fine most people get. Dumb elders-just like Elder Kimball said, "If the church must be true, if it wasn't ignoramus elders would have destroyed it long ago."
Overall, it was a super experience and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I was there. Especially camping 10 miles from the nearest bathroom. Not that I have to get up at least once in the middle of the night or anything...

Wish I could have gone! Sounds like you had fun my VIP scouter! ;)
I was wondering about those pictures of the stage at SHAC Jam, my son was on stage and we sat in the VIP Section. He was there for the OA Vigil call out. He also took a picture with Jillian. I was checking the web to see if I could find a video of the show but no luck yet. I did come across your site.
Thanks
