Garner

Oh my heavens, this last weekend was so much fun.  No internet, no phones... just a river, my family and a lot of fun.
We headed down to crash the Ivo's annual Garner trip.  In the past we haven't always been able to make it, but I'm glad this time it worked out.  The original plan was to leave at 5ish when Jeff got off work.  Um.  I rolled into Odessa about then.  We still had to switch vehicles and grab food at Wal Mart.  And eat dinner.  Didn't wanna miss that.  So we ate, and argued about whether or not to do fajitas or PB&J for dinner, and then headed to Wal Mart.   Once we finally escaped Wal Mart, we loaded both coolers and a huge box of food into the car and headed out.  .... to discover the cheap cooler sprung a leak.  Not wanting to waste more time at Wal Mart, we headed to the grocery store to buy ice and a new cooler.   That took a few minutes of reloading and as Jeff got in the car to leave, he mentioned he was dying of thirst.  I sent him in to grab a drink. ... he came out... and his flip flop had busted.  And they didn't sell flip flops at the grocery store.  So poor Jeff had to go back to Wal Mart and grab some new shoes.  I swear if it wasn't one thing it was another.  We finally made it to Garner at about 2:30 am.
But it was totally worth it when we got to see this gang.  There was good food, good company and a ton of laughing.  We played on the river, we danced, we went and took Tristan to the hospital for his first set of stitches.. which he just ripped out yesterday...
Jeff and I got to attempt the cowboy cha cha again, only to discover we are way worse than we used to be.  We did however, outdance all the kids.
Tristan spent a lot of time with his Dad, doing everything he did and trying to catch himself on fire.

It was a BLAST.  We learned not to bug the Panda before she has had her coffee and it's not noon.  We learned Tucker still has the Tortuga skills.. that 11 year olds look great in skinny jeans, 6 year olds are adorable, and my brother in law should have been a wedding planner.

I wish I had an extra minute to load all the pictures my sister took.  One day we took 7 tubes, a wagon and a cooler to the river just to haul her camera around.  She has some of the best shots.  But, I have a little boy needing some blueberries and a van full of camping gear to unload, so I am going to have take a break.

**How did I miss mentioning Tristan got stitches?   ... he did.  Fell into the corner of the picnic table and split his forehead open.  We had to go to a hospital 40 miles away since we were kinda in the middle of nowhere.  Then not even 4 days later he decided to pick at them and ripped 2 of the 4 out.  It had healed too much to restitch so now he just has an awesome Frankenstein style scar on his forehead.
Love Anna
