Merry Christmas!

Tis the season to be jolly!!! Fa ra ra ra ra... ra ra ra RA!!! I hope that this Christmas find everyone close to loved ones (and family) with a cheerful heart, a slice of pumpkin pie and time to watch "A Christmas Story." This is one of my favorite times of the year, I love everything about the spirit of Christmas as well as the hustle and bustle of shoppers, the traffic, the decorations and I love smelling home baked goodies. I especially LOVE LOVE Christmas music.. I'm constantly scanning the stations to hear anything classic or country Christmas. I'll tell you what, Joe Nickels singing "Away in a Manger" is a heartwarming rendition. Every year I try to have my shopping done by the beginning of December so I can take time to enjoy wrapping presents (I love wrapping presents), being with friends and family and not having to feel incredibly rushed. I also love Christmas traditions. My family has some good ones-lots of leaving gifts mysteriously on people's doors, doing the "12 Days Of Christmas" for another family secretly, looking at Christmas lights, shopping Christmas Eve (Dad/Jeff) and enjoying Reindeer food on the lawn.
This year we are fortunate enough to celebrate the birth of our Savior in Virginia with Jeff's parents. It's so wonderful to be around them and feel their love for the season and for us. I miss being around my family and all the little ones, but if I had to be anywhere else this is the place I'd pick. I'll say-there is no place quite like a good ol' Southern state to be at any time of the year.

So just what is it about Christmas that makes this time of year so special? I think it's the feeling that it brings, the feelings of peace, hope, love and the chance to give to others. As the year draws to a close, Jeff and I hope and wish that you are enjoying what Christmas is truly a;; about.

The songs for this blog are "Silent Night" by the Jingle Cats which you MUST listen to, "White Christmas" and "Away in a Manger"
