Distractions

As we started singing one of the songs during church today i noticed something itchy on my arm. I looked over and saw this little guy climbing around. I couldn't help but watch him wiggle and inch his way around. He was so cute. I showed Jeff my new friend and we were both very into watching him. So much that we about forget everything that was going on around us-til i finally noticed the deacon waiting for us to take the sacrament. It reminded me of the time Parker West was watching an ant and forgot to help with sacrament. He was up front and all the deacons were lined up waiting to come forward, but he was watching the ant so closely he lost track of time and what hew as doing. He bore his testimony later about not being distracted by the ants of the world and missing important things. Well it wasn't ants for me but inch worms. I need to work on not being distracted when important things happen-especially when it is times like this that i should be remembering the sacrifice that our Saviour made for us. It's not just inch worms and ants that can be distractions-it can be things that just take you away from what you should be doing. Blogging instead of scripture study *gasp* or too much TV instead of family time. So the moral is, don't be distracted by the ants and worms of the world.

The distractions in our ward are the toddlers that sit by us. They are hilarious to watch. We have given all of them nicknames (only we know their nicknames) and whisper to each other about what they are thinking:)

Something tells me that if I had seen an inchworm crawling on my arm...I wouldn't have been so calm! There probably would have been mild shrieking and Matt rolling his eyes :)
