~Nice, France~

May 10
On the 4th Day of Our Trip Jeff Gave to Me.... 4 euros for Coke!? SERIOUSLY? And no refills!?!
We had a very early wake up to catch our flight to Nice, France. We landed at 10:30am, got our rental car and GPS and were off by noon. It was too bad our GPS didn't work... But, just following the coast we found the beach and were so excited to get out and see the gravel. So we stopped and parked at the underground parking for the grocery store, got some French bread, and headed to the beach for a few minutes. We decided that we'd better get a move on, so we hurried back to the garage to find that apparently the French take their afternoon naps very seriously and shut and locked the garage. We were dumbfounded. Fortunately the deli girl was still in the parking lot, spoke some English and within an hour had talked the manager into coming back and freeing our car. Since she'd originally told us to come back the next morning, I was really stoked we even saw the car again. *phew* The views along the road were breathtaking. The houses looked like something out of an 18th century painting, with colored tile roofs and great steeples. We all just wanted to stop, get out, breath deep and take pictures. Well, at least I wanted to take pictures. It was fantastic. After a delicious ice cream at a cliff side cafe, we spotted this super cove. There were the yachts of all yachts parked there, a cruise ship and very tiny little fishing boats. What we couldn't see from the cliff were the half naked ladies trying to wrinkle their skin even more than they already were. Ewwwwwwwwww....
We parked the car on a tiny street, found the tiny stairs that led to the tiny beach and just basked in the warm sun. Jeff and I decided we wouldn't mind having that back yard. After a while we got back in the car and continued our drive. We figured we would stop in Genova, Italy. ... where I have never seen so many hookers in my entire life... even including movies!

I love France and I love Nice. The coast is gorgeous. Seeing your pictures makes me want to go there again. Funny: I think I have a picture just like your picture of the coast view of the super cove. Anyways, I'm sorry I forgot to warn you about the topless women on the beaches. I agree with you EEEWWWWW!
