This morning I am subbing a second grade bi-lingual class where I am Mrs. Dos. I do not speak Spanish.
At all.
I think that might be a good thing because the tattle tales have REALLY gone down from the last 2nd grade class I had. I can shrug my shoulders and say, "Sorry, no espanola..." and they would rather not take the time to explain to me in English. And even if they are tattling, it's cute because they have accents.
We also just got done playing an exciting game of small-white-board math. Everyone gets a small white board, and we all take turns writing down problems and seeing who can do it the fastest. I'm embarrassed to admit that I did not pay attention to the + and - signs and was beat by the kids when doing 2345-1234=1111. I put 3579. .. and so did the kid who was cheating next to me...

I wish I had learned Spanish. I get people coming up to me ALL THE TIME asking me where I am from and curious why I don't respond when they ask me something in Spanish. They seriously get puzzled. I look latino or there is something about me that makes every single hispanic in Utah think I am one of them:) That's funny about the cheating kid...
