Growing up in South Texas has taught me what a real rain storm is. Since we're so close to the coast we get quite a few tropical storms, and sometimes it will pour rain for days. That's what I'm used to. When I moved out of state I realized how much I missed the rain. I usually walk around without shoes on, and the first thing I noticed was that within ten steps of walking outside my feet would turn black. There was no rain to wash the streets clean. And people would freak out when it started to drizzle as if they were made of sugar and were about to melt. So as I am watching the pouring rain right now I am totally appreciating the fact that
1. The streets will be clean and
2. Work will not be as busy-people are scared of the rain and
2. The giant poop some squirrel took on top of my car will hopefully be washed off my sunroof.

I definitly have a new appreciation for what a real rainstorm is since we moved here- and I haven't even seen a Tropical Storm Yet!
