Despite how much I love our squirrels, they are total pigs at dinner time. They chew with their mouths open which constantly allows food to fall out, they shake their heads while they eat which flings the food onto the walls, and they smack. Constantly. Like it's their job. 
And it makes me cringe, especially if its live crickets. If there is one habit that people do that makes me crazy, it's smacking. Gum, food, crickets-I don't care. I hate it. And so does Amber. And that makes me feel less crazy knowing I'm not alone in this.

Just turn up the volume real loud and pretend you can see them! I can't help it if they're nocturnal and refuse to eat when the lights are on... and the video does NOT do the sound justice-you can hear them chewing in the other room.

My pet peeve is smacking. Seriously. My kids make me absolutely crazy with that sound.
