The things I have thrown away this week! Some of it hurts to see go, and some of it I am so relieved to not have to have anymore! I spent a few good hours going through boxes and getting rid of things I have had for years. Things like duct tape note books that contained all the important gossip of a twelve year old, notebook upon notebook from college classes starting when I was fifteen, old pool passes and planners... things that have precious memories, but are better at just being that, memories. You just can't keep everything, and when it comes down to it I'd rather keep love letters from Jeff than post cards from some random guy who was on a mission that I don't even remember anymore. Seriously, who was that guy and why did he write me so much?
It was a lot of fun going through some of my old stuff, and remembering how I got it and what went down, but it really did feel good to throw everything away. I cut three boxes down to half of a box-in just an hour. I looked at everything that was in there, flipped through it, and did the old, "Have I used it in the last month? Is it a major memory I'd like to keep forever? What would I do with it in the future?" questions and then most everything went into a goodbye box. There were some things that I wanted to keep, books that I've gotten over the years, church lesson manuals, things like that but honestly, if they've been in a box these last few years the chances of them seeing daylight or being missed are slim to none. Hopefully those are the books that get enjoyed by someone else. Just not me and my small spareroom closet. Doesn't it feel so good to clean out and dejunk!? I got rid of a few shoes, purses and clothing as well.
So that is what I do on my Spring break! That, and watch Animal Planet's Animal Cops-Houston edition. Good grief, no one should be allowed that many poodles!

Good for you! I love the feeling after I do some spring cleaning, but actually forcing myself to do it....well that's another story.
