It's Grizzly Out Here

Aside from missing Jeff-this trip out west has been Ah-mazing. I've been missing the weather, the mountains, the animals, everything. It's been super amazing to be out here. Especially because I finally got pictures of a bear!!! I've seen bears, wolves and mountain lions before, but I never ever get pictures. Finally though-we got some pictures! We were driving through Yellowstone, passing plenty of animal jams when we came across a particularly large one. Most people were inside their cars, hanging out the windows. We asked a passerby what we were staring at, and when he said, "Grizzly!" my Mom and I jumped out of the car as quick as we could with our cameras. I was probably ten feet from him when I took this-he ambled towards the group of us, and when he stopped and stared we all jumped back. I wasn't too worried about being this close, I figured with such a large group there had to be at least one person slower than me. We watched him dig for grubs for a while. Every time he'd lift his head you'd hear, "Click! Click! Click!" Then his head would go back down and it'd be complete silence til he lifted it again. I'm sitting in our condo at Big Sky posting this, trying to decide what we want to do today. I watched the sun rise with Tristan this morning-and I'm still facing east so I can't hardly even see the computer screen... which is why I just now realized that isn't the best picture of the bear. Oh well.
Love Anna
