Jeff loves to be politically informed. Meaning, he spends enough time reading the news on his phone he could have answered enough trivia questions to win us tickets to Nitty Gritty Dirt Band tonight. That's why it didn't surprise me when he wanted to run for a spot with Student Government. I was pretty impressed, he had a great campaign, and when it came time for election, ended up in a run off with another kid. They each got 66 votes. When they had to vote again Jeff won with 45 votes more than the other kid. Of course, I think it helped that he had a picture of Tristan and him on his campaign flyer. Shameless. I know.
Anyway, we went to the banquet dinner they held to swear in all the new officers and say goodbye to the old. I just know that I'm upset because they didn't bring the chocolate dessert tray out til after I had already grabbed one of the fruit ones. I was going to use the excuse, "Oh I need one for the baby..." and grab another, but Tristan was at home. With his first sitter. I mean, he's been babysat tons before, but last night was the first night I actually called and paid a kid to come to our house and watch our baby. Crazy, huh.
When Jeff saw me grab the camera he voiced his concern I'd take too many pictures and embarrass him. I promised I wouldn't, but I couldn't help myself. He was just so cute. Besides, he couldn't say anything when he was being sworn in, so I could do whatever :)
I think I am going to get him some letterhead that says, "From the desk of Senator Tew." Or maybe a rubberstamp with his credentials. Tristan and I can get matching shirts that say, "We live with the Senator!" Ha. Just kidding. But being serious, gotta love Jeff. He's such a hard working guy and he is so cute all dressed up!
