We are expanding our family by two feet this Christmas!!!
That means I am fourteen weeks this week. Almost to the second trimester.
Jeff and I found out on Tristan's birthday. I suspected I might be pregnant but Jeff wanted a yes or no. So after we put Tristan to bed I grabbed a test (well, we had to go get one) and did the duty. Jeff made me set it on the counter and drug me into the kitchen so we could wait at least a full minute without looking. He tortured me by counting really slow, and then suddenly when he was almost to sixty he took off running to the bathroom. But, being the ninja that I am I beat him in, glanced at the positive test and burst into the biggest smile. We hugged, laughed, kissed and danced around. It had been SUCH a good day already and this was the icing on the cake. Tristan had his birthday and got to celebrate with his friends, we had Jeff's senate dinner where he got a big award, and then we found out we were are blessed to be having baby number Tew ;)
I was glad that I wasn't that far along when we went to China. I was a little concerned about that but it worked out perfectly. I'm also grateful that I haven't been sick. I wasn't sick with Tristan, and so far that has been the case with this one. If I wasn't missing my period I'd hardly know I was pregnant. I was really excited for my first appointment last week so I could see our little baby in the ultra sound-it felt good to know this was real and that there really is bouncing little baby in there. We decided to start telling people last week though, because like Tristan, I am already showing. Not pregnant looking, just fat looking. At 10 weeks with Tristan people were starting to wonder. This time I don't think it's much different, I'm already pretty round.
So that is my good news for the week. We are pregnant. We are so excited and so blessed. Tristan finally pointed at my belly the other day and said, "Baby?" I think he might be excited. Good times in the Tew household :)
