But for me, I celebrate the 5th of May as the day Jeff begged asked me to be his bride for time and all eternity. Two years ago, this very day, Jeff finally made our engagement official. I think everyone knew that it was going to happen since I was too excited to keep my mouth shut, it was mostly just when it would be official.
When he proposed, I wasn't sure he was really asking at first. He'd done a few "practice" proposals as I guess one might call them... waiting for a moment that would be completely awful (just walking out of the bathroom, on the phone with my sister/friend/parent, in the middle of a project, etc..) where he would pull out the ring box, get on one knee and start saying, "Anna, would you.." wait for my shocked look and then finish with "... like to go to dinner?" Needless to say it was around that time that he almost got his first bloody nose. Then one night he tried to surprise me. He took me out to Island Park to go to a job interview with him, I'd half wondered why he was taking me to this job interview of his when I moved his jacket and felt the ring box. I was sure that he was going to, but since he'd teased me so many times before I didn't get my hopes up. Anyway, a few mooses and hours later nothing had happened so I forgot. Then he did one of those, "Oh, since we're so close already-let's go to Big Springs... " So there we were. Over the Big Springs bridge with the sun setting in the background over the river. It was starting to get really chilly and I was shivering, he was just about sweating in his giant coat and I was wondering why in the world he wasn't offering me his jacket.... when I turned around and there he was, on one knee. I didn't believe him at first, but after the sweetest, most sincere and loving proposal I almost knocked him off the bridge in the river with a huge "Yes!"
So that's how the most beautiful and loving proposal went down two years ago, and why we ended up snowshoeing out there later for Valentine's day. And just so everyone knows, I love Jeff now more than I ever have and I can't wait for the years to come. He is the best thing to have ever waltzed in to my life... and since he gets these blogs delivered to his blackberry and will be reading this in five minutes.... Jeff-I love you!! Grab your little "coupon" and come out to the car!!! I have a little surprise for you!

Cute proposal story!! I think he may have deserved the bloody nose after all the tricking. I don't think I would have been able to handle it- it sounds like you were pretty patient. I practically put the ring in Brandon's hand and said ask me so I can have the ring. I was excited about the marriage part too. The ring just marks its officialness:)
P.S. I LOVE the way you talk...waltzed. I am going to start using that word now.
P.S.S. Congrats on your engagement and then marriage of 2 years!
