Sometimes I get a wild hare... then I have to release it back into the wild because five animals in one house is enough.
For some strange reason I thought it'd be fun to let the kids come and spend the night. So they came over with just enought time to hit the pool before it closed. ... and then their Mom thought she'd be sweet and drop off a giant bag of Tootsie Rolls... why??? Individually wrapped candy?? Who does that... anyway-the kids wanted to make something. 
So we tried a recipe for Tootise Roll fudge. I think I put too much peanut butter in-but it pretty much tasted like peanut butter flavored Tootsie Rolls. It wasn't a hit. It's all still in tact sitting on the counter, actually. I mean, it's not bad. It's just not great.
So then we ditched the Tootise Roll stuff and did makeovers. Darling while it lasted-but the girls discovered why make up remover is imortant as when they tried to wash it off... they looked like Zombies. Which inspired more blood red lip stick on their teeth... and random zombie walks.
The next morning we made chocolate chip waffles.. homemade whip cream, syrup, cherries and sprinkles.
Then we went back to the pool. Overall-pretty busy party. I think I only threatened their lives a handful of times-but in the end it just made me realize how much I will miss little things like this when we move. I just had to text their Mom and say, "They can come over and spend the night tonight if they want!" And there they were-covering my living room with piles of stuff. The good news is that I'll still have family within a 100 mile radius, but it won't be as close as it is here.
