I'm Getting Big, Regardless

Six Monthsish
So far I've made it to 24 weeks, and the baby has nowhere to go but out. Some days I feel huge, and those are the days I put on my bizarrely sized Old Navy clothes that say, "x-small" yet somehow still fit. Then I have the second bowl of Cap'N Crunch. So far I still feel great, except running has gotten harder due to the fact I have to find a bathroom (or tree) fairly often.
Here is the question-how far along am I? I am going forward with the counting, meaning I am saying I am about six months pregnant.
24/4=6, right?
Or, as the doctor smiled and said, "Or we can mess with you and say you still have 16 weeks to go... do the math!" Which would put me at 5 months, if you count backwards and I go the entire 40 weeks.
I like going forward instead of counting backwards, because who knows if I will or won't make it to the full 40 weeks. Which, people, is not 9 months it's 10!!! That, and I can't remember half the time what week I am on anyway. I probably told three people this week when they asked I was 20 weeks. Then I remembered later that 20 weeks was roughly a month ago. Oh well. I figure the kid will come whenever he's ready anyway, which with my luck will be weeks after his anticipated arrival. So-y'all tell me, which way do you count?
Love Anna

I hardly ever even used months, people who have been pregnant before know the week-thing. And people who haven't don't really know the difference anyway so count up! or maybe count down because then at the end when its REALLY annoying to be pregnant, you won't feel literally stranded in the same month for 2!!!!

I generally use weeks. Once I'm 20 weeks, I might think about how many months I have left. And I guess 40 weeks is 9 months + 1 week. Afterall, if we only went by weeks, the year would have 13 months.

I count by how much I have left so that people don't start bugging me about if I'm EVER going to have the kid, especially at the end when I'm already feeling that way myself.

Besides, you have to take into account that 4 weeks is only 28 days, and that you're already more than two weeks pregnant at conception.

But, you're pregnant, and you can think whatever you want and people will excuse you for it . . . so milk it while you can, honey!!

I know right? I feel like women understand the week thing and most men have no idea what I am talking about, so I convert it to months. If I count by months, I look at the calendar and count how many months I have gone instead of dividing days. Cause like your friend mentioned, there are usually more than 28 days (4 weeks) in a month. If you check out the calendar, pregnancy really ends up being just over nine months in the end (and really just nine months even when we don't count those invisible first two weeks, before ovulation, that the drs have us count).
So, ANYWAYS, counting that way, we are about 5 1/2 months along!

I think counting forward is better! CUTE CUTE prego picture! I'm glad to hear you are still running...way to go.

P.S. Happy late Birthday!

I like weeks, but I don't think it really matters.

I, however, liked to mentally think that William was coming at 41 weeks. Our doctor and our baby-classes told us most (like 80%) of first-time moms have their baby at 41 weeks.

Plus, I had many friends counting down the days and were so aggravated when the baby didn't come "on-time". I planned for the worst and was sooo happy when he came like 3 days early!
