Tech v. Iowa State

There is SO much team spirit here in Lubbock. Every driveway, every restaurant, every street corner, bank, grocery store, sock drawer, mailbox, billboard, flag pole, every everything has some sort of Texas Tech symbol on it. Everyone here loves Tech. I love it. I love that they love Tech. When we were in school at BYU-I it was like the students were a plague. The residents there haven't quite accepted that they're a college town, and it shows. It's two separate worlds-the students vs. the residents. I hope someday they get over that, because the students are what is keeping those businesses there alive, and the locals should appreciate it. Maybe if they had a team to cheer? Maybe if they just got involved in intramural sports.... ? Anyway, back to the Raiders. This statue gets decorated every home game by the Saddle Tramps. They did a tacky job this time-but I still think it looks cool.
Guns Up!
We got to the game early so we could enjoy the festivities... BBQ, live bands, tail gating like there was no tomorrow. And the opening show for the game was fantastic too. What other school has a horse run across the field to open? And the fans were awesome-so much cheering. Twistan slept through most of the beginning, but all in all, I don't think he cared one way or the other. See how everyone is in red? And black? Even my baby? I wore pink.
See, all over the radio and school paper, and everywhere they requested everyone wear pink for breast cancer month. So I did. Me and about 10 other people. The other 58,990 fans wore team colors. I almost went home and changed. I would have, if the car hadn't been a 1.5 miles away. The half time show was pretty cool. I love watching the marching band-it's pretty cool they can play and march at the same time. I'm not coordinated to walk and chew gum at the same time, so I appreciate these guys. And this is how Jeff pretty much spent most of the game. The Raiders sucked so bad. We thought for sure they were going to clobber these guys-especially after last week's win over the Sooners. But no. Noooooope we got our butts handed to us. I'm OK with that-I like Iowa. It's where my kin folk are from. We ended up leaving after the third quarter with about 50,000 others. Better luck next time, Raiders.
Love Anna

You look better in pink than in red. Everyone else probably wanted to go home and change into pink because of you but didn't have time.
